I love harvesting Midnight Romas. You have to gently squeeze them to see if they are ready because if you twist them to see the color they pop off the vine.

@heidilifeldman Amen. Maintaining free, fair, and trustworthy elections is not the only existential problem before us, but it's a critical one, and it's the one I'm equipped to contribute to.
Thanks for your (impressively tireless) work!
@mattblaze Thanks friend.
@AnarchoNinaWrites
...Sick AND tired of the effing guy.
It just really sucks that so many free software tools from the kernel and compilers up are rapidly reconfiguring themselves in service to slop generators.
I am so grateful for the effort people are putting to create human-centred forks.
But one thing I do think about a lot is the mental toll of constantly chasing a compromised version of someone else's vision v.s. pursuing new ideas.
The whole thing just feels like ddos on the attention of people who should be working on bigger things.
Thinking of starting a band with some frens maybe :3
Gonna go to a thrift store and start singing about a biscuit or some shit /ref
@pilesofpotatos do itttttt
Tiistaina ois etäkoulutus ovelta ovelle -kampanjointiin: https://helsinki.vasemmisto.fi/event/koulutus-ovelta-ovelle-kampanjointiin/
Minä koulutan. 😄
Sitten seuraava koputtelu Helsingissä on lauantaina 26.9.
The film was impressively faithful to the source material.
Modest proposal: we could end the daylight savings time debate ONCE AND FOR ALL if we just get rid of the Earth's axial tilt! Just think, with a tilt of 0° every day and night would be precisely 12 hours long, everywhere on Earth!
@cstross Make sure to also circularize the orbit around the sun to eliminate small variations from that. Might need to blow up the moon to really get it properly circular.
Stop and stretch your body however you can.
This is hard to read but you must. The Trump regime focuses its immoral, racist, ethnic cleansing on children. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/sep/19/stephen-miller-trump-migrant-children
When confronted with a constantly evil, dangerous government, one simply has to dig in and work hard against it. Choice of tactic or focus is less important than taking action. For me, right now, the necessity to try to keep elections available as a route to political change seems imperative. I’m not fighting for particular candidates. I’m fighting for the foundational mechanism of a democracy. 5/5

Not discounting, of course, the literal ddos from the ai scrapers that I am pretty sure has consumed a significant portion of free software mindshare over the last 6+ years.
@sarahjamielewis DDoS is exactly how I would describe the majority of things LLMs do.
The merde requests and confabulated vulnerabilities and exposures DDoS people's short term thinking.
The sloppening DDoS's people's long term thinking.
The crawlers DDoS websites people need
The slop and inserted presence of the chat bot DDoS the use of search engines and interpersonal communications (especially in public forums)
I met @lisalaporte at #podcastmovement Hi @leo
@lisalaporte @leo It was funny, bc Lisa said no one says hi to her. HAHA. Leo's been talking about Lisa for so long that I had to say hi!
@Steve12L j'ai diit foot
@Natouille Je sais, j'avions bien compris.
My daughter has been playing #Minecraft
and it's been set up through my personal Microsoft Xbox account.
But this week she really wanted me to join her in her world, so I had to figure out how to set up the game to work on our local network in LAN mode, across Windows and Linux.
This involved registering a new Microsoft and Xbox profile for her, but also buying an additional copy of the game and installing the correct mods to give her controller support.
So worth it though.
I'd never played Minecraft before she got into playing it, but its a super creative game and my daughter absolutely loves that we game together. 💞
@klorydryk
Koin ? Je veux bien en savoir plus.
C'est pas de vieux restes de NTLM ?
@sebsauvage je vais poser la question au service en charge. Mais j'ai peur qu'ils ne sachent même pas me répondre. Je vais creuser.
A friend was watching Hyperland, a movie from 1990. She noticed a bit from a woman, Amanda Goodenough, who had created a hypercard deck that was also an interactive childrens' story. Turns out it was probably the first interactive digital story when it came out, in 1987. Thanks to the miracle of digital archiving and emulating, we can interact with that same story, in nearly the same way, 40 years later. And I wrote a short Wikipedia article about Amanda. (Thanks Dinah!)
